We have introduced new tools to help us communicate with users more effectively. - We can now send personalised emails to report owners for feedback, recovery stories, and report update reminders - All communications are logged and auditable - A new changelog page (you are reading it!) keeps everyone informed of platform updates

Statistics page redesign

The statistics page has been completely redesigned for UK-focused data: - Reports by region — see which areas have the most stolen vehicle reports - Most targeted makes — see which vehicle brands are most commonly stolen - Recovery rate — track how many vehicles are being recovered - Improved 30-day report chart - Cleaner layout with more useful metrics

Photo uploads for reports & sightings

You can now add photos after submitting a report — no need to have them ready at the time of filing. Report owners can upload up to 5 photos total. We have also added photo support to suspicious vehicle sightings. If you spot something suspicious, you can now attach up to 3 images to help with identification.

Improved email notifications

Report owners now receive helpful reminders to strengthen their reports: - 24 hours after filing: personalised suggestions based on what is missing (VIN, photos, ownership verification) - 7 days after filing: a check-in reminder to update the report with any new information These nudges are designed to improve the quality of reports and increase the chances of recovery.

Ownership verification improvements

The ownership verification process has been updated. You can now upload your V5C or other proof of ownership document alongside a photo ID. Documents are securely stored and automatically deleted after review. Terminology has been updated to reflect international document types — we now accept V5C, title documents, or other proof of ownership.

Platform hardening & data protection

A comprehensive review of the platform has been completed, resulting in numerous improvements to data handling, session management, and overall platform reliability. - Improved data retention policies with automatic cleanup - Enhanced email logging so all outbound messages are tracked - Better input validation across all forms - Faster page loads with new database indexes - EXIF metadata (including GPS location) is now stripped from all uploaded photos to protect your privacy

UK focus & rebrand

VehFinder is now fully focused on the United Kingdom. All branding, search, and reporting now reflects our UK-only coverage. - Homepage updated to "UK Stolen Vehicle Register" - Country selection locked to United Kingdom when filing a report - Statistics page redesigned with UK-specific data: reports by region, most targeted vehicle makes, and recovery rate - Removed the countries counter and "reports by country" section

Data export & account management

You can now export all data VehFinder holds about you from your account page — reports, sightings, comments, and profile information — in a single download. You can also request full account deletion at any time. These features are part of our commitment to transparency and your rights under UK data protection law.
